Cattles' Corner - The First Week of Byes Hit Hard

So it's the first NFL bye week on the schedule and I'm sure many of you are about to be hit hard.  Looking at the list of players out is like reading a potential Pro Bowl roster.  Good bye Kurt Warner.  See you later Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin.  I look forward to starting you next week DeAngelo Williams.  Tony Gonzalez, you've left me no choice!  Hey, don't fret.  It's going to happen to everyone and I'm sure you're not the only guy or gal in your league scrambling for a sub.  Let's take a look at some possible guys that can fill a void if you've got them and others to stay away from.

First, as I mentioned in my Fantasy Foreplay segment earlier today on Tanguay and Zolak, I like David Garrard and Mike Sims-Walker.  I had the unfortunate opportunity to watch some of the Titans-Jets game last week and I'll tell you, this isn't your older brother's Titans.  Tennessee can't defend the pass.  They've given up the most receiving yards in the league and are 29th overall in passing yards allowed.

A lot of talk has been pointed towards Denver and their 3-0 start and for good reason.  But I also like them from a fantasy standpoint this week when they host the Cowboys. This Dallas team can be thrown on.  If you're reaching for a starter this week at QB, I wouldn't be surprised if Kyle Orton puts up good numbers.  Also, I hope you Brandon Marshall owners have been paying attention.  He had a good game last week and I'd look for him to do some damage versus the 'Boys.

Finally, I'll give you a quick hit list of some more sits and starts.  I like Donald Brown against Seattle and Earl Bennett against Detroit.  Brown's getting more of a handle on the Colts offense and is seeing the ball more because of it.  As for Bennett in Chicago, he's getting a lot of targets and is facing that bad Detroit Defense.  In Miami, T.O. might finally get some things done.  I'm not a big fan of Ben Roethlisberger nor am I excited about Roy Williams.  Finally, whoever's healthy and plays between Wes Welker and Julian Edelman could have a bigger day than expected against the Ravens.

Good luck everyone and remember, you can hit me with your fantasy questions by sending them to tanguayandzolak@985thesportshub.com...Yes, the address is that long.
